Do Class 9 marks count in the Class 10 board result?

No — Class 9 exams are school-internal. But the Class 10 syllabus builds directly on Class 9, so the year determines how hard Class 10 feels, even though its marks are not carried forward.

Are old Class 9 guides and solution books still useful?

Mostly not. The 2026-27 session runs on the new books (Ganita Manjari, Exploration, Kaveri, Understanding Society: India and Beyond), so solutions and guides for the old series no longer match the chapters. Check that any material you buy names the new books.

Should Class 9 students start JEE/NEET foundation prep?

Q: What happened to the old four Social Science books?

Under the new NCF-SE 2023 structure, the separate History, Geography, Political Science and Economics books are replaced by one integrated volume — Understanding Society: India and Beyond. Part 1 was published in June 2026; Part 2 is still awaited. (Classes 6–8 use a differently titled book, Exploring Society: India and Beyond — do not mix the two up.)
